Printable Fruit Word Search
Make a fruit-themed word search for a quiet activity, a food topic or a rainy afternoon. The ready-made list includes familiar fruit names, and you can swap in the words your family uses. Each fresh puzzle rearranges the same list, so two learners can work on different grids without needing different vocabulary.
Make your printable sheet
- Open the fruit preset and review the list. Remove unfamiliar or long words for a shorter activity.
- Select the difficulty and grid size. Easy words run right or down; Medium adds diagonals; Hard also allows backwards words.
- Choose a theme, name and date lines, paper size and optional key. Create the puzzle and download the actual sheet shown in the preview.
A starting example
APPLE, PEAR, PLUM, KIWI and MANGO make a compact starting list. Add BANANA, ORANGE or CHERRY when a larger grid is appropriate. Words cannot contain spaces or punctuation, so write a two-word fruit name as a single entry, or use a shorter familiar alternative.
Ideas for your activity
Before searching, talk about the colours and shapes of the fruit. Children can make a separate drawing beside each word or choose which fruit they would put in a fruit salad. Keep tasting activities separate from the paper and consider allergies before offering any food.
For a pair activity, print two fresh puzzles with the same words and let each learner explain how they found one word. Avoid making speed the only goal. A smaller list and a larger letter grid can be more comfortable than a densely packed puzzle.
