Printable Addition Worksheets
Build addition practice from a number range you choose. Each question is generated locally with a matching calculated answer. Use a short set of small numbers for a first activity, or increase the range for larger-number practice. You decide whether the answer key belongs in the printout.
Make your printable sheet
- Open Addition in the math maker, then set the smallest and largest addends.
- Choose the question count, page title, name and date lines and a theme. Create the questions to refresh the preview.
- Select a paper size and decide whether to include answers on a separate page. Save the current sheet before generating another set.
A starting example
A range of 0 to 5 can produce 2 + 4 = ____ or 5 + 5 = ____. Because the range applies to each addend, answers can reach 10. A range of 0 to 10 can produce answers up to 20. Use this distinction when choosing a sheet for a learner; “within 10” is not the same as addends up to 10.
Ideas for your activity
Let the learner use counters, fingers or a number line alongside the sheet. Ask them to explain one sum, then compare two number sentences that give the same total. Use the blank answer space for a numeral rather than trying to fit a full drawing inside the question.
Try a small set first and change the number range before making another page. Missing Number is also available for equations such as 3 + ____ = 8, although it mixes addition and subtraction. These tools provide arithmetic practice, not a verified curriculum sequence.
Common questions
Can I remove the answer key?
Yes. Untick Include answer key; neither print nor PDF will add that page.
Can questions repeat?
The maker avoids identical questions where practical. Very small ranges may require repeats to reach the selected count.
